The house to the right of us is much lower (maybe 3.5 feet), here is a pic of the difference.

Strange Traditions

We are so excited! I can't wait it is all we talked about. Brian was telling folks from Pop about it and someone told him that we should save some sand from the lot in a bottle and display it in the house. Brian and I love strange traditions like this, and we were already planning to have a beach bathroom in the house so it would be a great display.

On Sat 3/31 we took a pilgrimiage to search for the perfect bottle. Brian had something in mind and we drove around looking for a little shop that would have the bottle. We ended up getting it from the local Wal-Mart. We picked through the sand for rocks and stuffed them into the bottle. Then we shoved the sand into Brian's car funnel and then into the bottle. The problem was the sand covered the rocks - and I didn't like that so we dumped it all out and started over. This time sand was on the bottom and then the rocks. MUCH BETTER.

We are buying a HOUSE!?!?

Wow - um are we crazy?? On San 3/24/07 Brian was at work and I was playing on the computer again. I had been on the hunt for a home for over a year. I love Realtor.com and spent way too much time there. We had picked out a few homes and went to see them, but the ones we could afford were not in good areas. I was over it.

THEN - I saw an ad in the Eyes and Ears (Disney's cast newspaper) for Maronda Homes. It said "Homes from the $150" and I thought yeah right. I checked out the website and saw a great new house in the $170s. I called Jeannine who was in Vegas on vacation and asked her about her subdivision. She had just built a 4 bedroom with Maronda and the home was in her area. I had her give me all the scoop on the area and then Brian and I took a drive.

The area was great 6 miles away from Interstate, brand new house, 3 bed, 2 bath, 2 car garage. I was sold. Brian and I went back on Sun and wrote the check day. Again - aren't we CRAZY?? We are reading all this legal stuff and signing our lives away. But who cares we will have a house sometime in the fall!!
